SigningHub can be used in conjunction with a remote SSCD such as the Ascertia ADSS Server SAM Appliance (QSCD). In circumstances where users must sign via a SSCD using a smartcard or token such as National ID Cards, organisations can still use Ascertia’s cloud-based remote signing solution.
Our cloud signing service can send the document or transaction to the SSCD for local signing. When this is necessary, businesses must have local SSCD drivers installed, and a smartcard reader connected.
SigningHub and ADSS Signing Server are both remote signing solutions offered by Ascertia. They have slight differences making them work for specific businesses or individuals.
SigningHub
Ascertia designed SigningHub, a complete document workflow solution, to be used by individuals and enterprises. It can cater to server-side, client-side or mobile signing.
SigningHub offers the ability to workflow documents when multiple parties are required to sign. This helps track document status and reminds users to sign when someone is holding up the process.
SigningHub provides helpful features such as email alerts when signatures are required, as well as notifications. Using RESTful APIs, businesses can easily integrate it within any web application.
ADSS Signing Server
Ascertia’s ADSS Signing Server is a more powerful solution, built for organisations with more complex eSignature requirements. It offers several features, including:
- Customisation to meet different organisational needs
- Integration into customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP) and document management systems
- High security that complies with eIDAS and ISO/EIC 27001
Signatures made remotely using Ascertia’s solutions are legally binding in most countries. Digital or electronic signatures are legally recognised as equivalent to a handwritten signature.
For an eSignature to be legally binding, it must meet specific requirements. These requirements can vary from country to country, but typically include the following:
- The signature is unique to the signer
- The signature is linked to the signed document in a way it cannot be tampered with
- The signer must be able to verify their identity
There are exceptions. In some countries, eSignatures may not be valid for certain documents. An example would be for deeds. Deeds cannot be electronically signed in many countries, including the UK, Germany, France, Canada and other countries.
It is important to check the laws in your country to ensure electronic signatures are valid for the type of document you are signing.
